COIN-OR Open Solver Interface

The COIN-OR Open Solver Interface is a uniform API for interacting with callable solver libraries. It supports linear programming solvers as well as the ability to "finish off" a mixed-integer problem calling the solver library's MIP solver.

Supported solvers: * COIN-OR LP solver (OsiClp) * DyLP (OsiDylp) * the Volume Algorithm (OsiVol)

Osi is part of the larger COIN-OR initiative (Computational Infrastructure for Operations Research).

This package contains the documentation and examples.

To install this package, please look at the INSTALL file.

This package contains several subdirectories corresponding to COIN-OR
projects ( The AUTHORS, LICENSE and README files in 
each of the subdirectories give more information about these projects.


These examples are from the OSI tutorial at INFORMS Atlanta 2003 by
Brady Hunsaker and the workshop section on OSI given by Matthew
Saltzman at CORS/INFORMS Banff 2004.

To build each program, adjust the COIN_DIR macro in Makefile.<program>
and invoke

	make -f Makefile.<program>

where <program> is the name of the program to build.  The accompanying
slides and handouts can be found at
