Minimal (java-free) tool to interact with an Arduino
Arduino is an open hardware microcrontoler platform. This package contains
the minimal set of tools to allow one to program an Arduino. It also contains
some examples, and a quick intro in the package's README.Debian.
This package does not include the Java based Integrated Development
Environment, which can be found in the 'arduino' package.
The Makefile here is based on the one that was in Arduino 0017
but has since been dropped by the upstream developers.
It is preserved in the Debian package to allow command-line usage without
introducing java dependancies, so if you want to report bugs against
it, please report them against whichever distribution you are using,
and NOT against the upstream source, as that would be pointless, and
arduino-core for Debian
N.B. This package has not been widely tested -- your miliage may vary

This package contains the bare minimum required to program an Arduino
using Arduino sketches via the command line.
It DOES NOT contain the Java IDE -- if that's want you want you need to
install the main arduino package as well (which depends on th
arduino (0018+dfsg-6) unstable; urgency=low
* Properly sets LD_LIBRARY_PATH in the arduino wrapper if it has not
be previously defined or empty. See Debian bug 602041.
* Corrected typo in arduino (0018+dfsg-5) debian/changelog entry
/usr/lib/jni is correct (used to be /usr/lib/java, which is
