userspace USB HID development files
libhid provides a generic and flexible way to access and interact with USB
HID devices, much like libusb does for plain USB devices. It is based on
libusb, thus it requires no HID support in the kernel and provides means to
take control over a device even if the kernel governs it.
This package provides the development files and static library for libhid.
You need this if you want to develop an application with libhid.

Due to the MGE hidparser component, libhid is released under the (viral) GPL
licence. This is a major inconvenience, of which we are aware. We are
searching for alternatives, and for time to implement these so that we can
relicence the library under a free licence, such as BSD or the Artistic
Licence. If you are interested in faster progress, please consider helping

* Update package to the last python policy (Closes: #373450):
+ only build for the current python atm (build-dep upon python-dev).
+ use dh_pysupport instead of dh_python.
