Library for Kerberos-authenticated command execution

remctl is a client/server protocol for executing specific commands on a remote system with Kerberos authentication. The allowable commands must be listed in a server configuration file, and the executable run on the server may be mapped to any command name. Each command is also associated with an ACL containing a list of Kerberos principals authorized to run that command.

This package contains the client libraries linked against MIT Kerberos.

Package version:2.12-1+b1

remctl (2.11-1) unstable; urgency=low

remctl now has an IANA-assigned port number (4373). The inetd.conf
entry for remctl-server will not be changed if an entry already exists,
but you may want to change port 4444 to 4373 once all your clients have
  been upgraded.

The remctl client (command-line or library) will attempt to connect to
4373 by default and fall back to 4444 if that fail

remctl 2.12 (2008-04-04)

If no server principal is specified on the remctl command line or in
the remctl() or remctl_open() C or Perl library interfaces, remctl now
uses a host-based service name for the server instead of a Kerberos
principal of host/server. The practical effect of this is that
