lcab is a small program for Linux that creates a cabinet (.cab)
archive from a set of input files.
CAB format represents the Microsoft Windows compressed archive
format. It is used for compression and digital signing by a variety
of Microsoft installation programs
lcab is under the GPL.
to compile you can do one of two things:
just type "make", that's it
This is a little more platform independent.

lcab [OPTION]... SOURCE... CABFILE
Create the cabinet file CABFILE from the SOURCE files. SOURCE
files can also be directories when the -r option is speci‐
-r loop recursively through directories
