automatic display manager
This package prepares the system to automatically start an X session at
system boot. It is meant for devices like smartphones, but can be used on
a regular computer as well, if the security implications are acceptable.

nodm is a minimal display manager that simply logs in as a given user and

On a normal computer, using nodm is a big security issue because it would give
anyone access to the computer.

* Configuration via preseeding
You can configure nodm via debconf preseeding, so that the package will install
without asking any question, and doing what you want.
To do so, before installing the package you can create a file similar to the
output of debconf-get-selections, and run debconf-set-selections with it.
For example, in order to have nodm start as the user 'kiosk', you can save this
