shared libraries for grok
The grok library provides the pattern matching features of grok in
your own tools. There are currently C and Ruby APIs.
Grok is simple software that allows you to easily parse logs and
other files. With grok, you can turn unstructured log and event data
into structured data.

- Patch from wxs to clean up some compiler warnings/issues and also
to have the Makefile obey CC
- Allow patterns to be defined in-line.
This is most useful for defining named-captures in-line for one-offs.
It was designed for use in logstash, but is certainly appropriate
