The purpose of this addon is to allow you to execute Nagios plugins on a remote host in as transparent a manner as possible.
This program runs as a background process on the remote host and processes command execution requests from the check_nrpe plugin on the Nagios host.

NRPE With SSL/TLS NRPE now has the option for Encrypting Network traffic using SSL/TLS from openssl. The Encryption is done using a set encryption routine of AES-256 Bit Encryption using SHA and Anon-DH. This encrypts all traffic using the NRPE sockets from the client to the server.
