Steel Bank Common Lisp
Steel Bank Common Lisp (SBCL) is a Open Source development environment
for Common Lisp. It includes an integrated native compiler,
interpreter, and debugger.
Downloads and installs an ASDF system or anything else that looks
convincingly like one, including updating the ASDF:*CENTRAL-REGISTRY*
symlinks for all the toplevel .asd files it contains. Please read
this file before use: in particular: this is an automatic tool that
downloads and compiles stuff it finds on the 'net. Please look at the

The sb-aclrepl module offers an AllegroCL style Read-Eval-Print Loop for
SBCL. An AllegroCL style inspector is integrated. Adding an AllegroCL style
debugger is planned.
To start sb-aclrepl as your read-eval-print loop, put the form
in your ~/.sbclrc initialization file.

The implementation for CMUCL was largely done by Pierre Mai, with help
from denizens of the cmucl-help mailing list. Since CMUCL and SBCL
are similar in many respects, it was not too difficult to extend the
low-level implementation optimizations for CMUCL to SBCL;
consequently, performance is within spitting distance of
