The GNU version of the "make" utility.
GNU Make is a program that determines which pieces of a large
program need to be recompiled and issues the commands to recompile
them, when necessary. More information about GNU Make can be
found in the `make' Info page.
This directory contains the 3.75 test release of GNU Make.
All bugs reported for previous test releases have been fixed.
Some bugs surely remain.
For general building and installation instructions, see the file INSTALL.
If you need to build GNU Make and have no other `make' program to use,
you can use the shell script `build.sh' instead. To do this, first run
`configure' as described in INSTALL.
