Threaded, persistent, OO, scheme interpreter and compiler.
RScheme is a scheme interpreter and compiler with object extensions,
threads, a persistent store, an optional real-time garbage collector,
and many other nifty features.
RScheme can generate byte compiled modules, or compile directly to
C. This is quite easy with the current configuration. See
/usr/doc/rscheme/module-example for an example.
The enclosed "rst" executable includes hacks to allow thread
(instead of process) blocking IO at the expense of readline support.
rst starts up with a threaded REPL. These hacks should be considered

================ RScheme (release 0.7.2) =====
This distribution of RScheme includes some low-level hacks to enhance
the user level threading system. These enhancements include
user-level thread blocking (as opposed to process blocking) IO.
The majority of this code will not affect you if you just run the
non-threaded binaries rs, or fshell.
If you run the threaded version, rst, you will have all the threading
improvements availble, and wil
This directory contains a simple example of creating a module in
RScheme. All you need to do is cd to this directory and run
rsc -p sample.mcf
to create the module in byte compiled format, and
rsc -p -ccode sample.mcf
to generate C code instead.
The .mcf definition is set up to generate all it's files in the
"sample" subdirectory. That makes it easier to clean up, but note
that at the m
