This package contains the Linux man pages for all chapters
except 1, 6 and 8. Some more information is given in the
Install by copying to your favourite location.
"make install" will just copy them to /usr/share/man/man[1-8].
"make" will move the pages from this package that are older than
the already installed ones to a subdirectory `not_installed',

In his wisdom RMS decided that people need no man pages
when they can use GNU's beautiful info system.
Unfortunately, everybody I know greatly prefers man pages.
Since GNU actively non-maintains man pages, and inserts
text to the effect that you should not be reading them
in each man page that they already have, it seems that
outside maintenance of man pages for the GNU utilities
The files in this directory are scripts for man-pages maintenance tasks.
They may be useful for downstream man-pages package maintainers or for
man-pages translators. This directory does not contain any files that
need to be installed in order to use the manual pages.
