eject

ejects CDs and operates CD-Changers under Linux

This little program will eject CD-ROMs (assuming your drive supports the CDROMEJECT ioctl). It also allows setting the autoeject feature.

On supported ATAPI/IDE multi-disc CD-ROM changers, it allows changing the active disc.

You can also use eject to properly disconnect external mass-storage devices like digital cameras or portable music players.

Eject allows removable media (typically a CD-ROM, floppy disk, tape
drive, or JAZ or ZIP disk) to be ejected under software control. The
command can also control some multi-disc CD-ROM changers, the
auto-eject feature supported by some devices, and close the disc tray
of some CD-ROM drives.

See the file INSTALL for instructions on how to compile and install
the program.
